5th October 2010
From September 2008 we have all been under enormous pressure to push for a breakthrough. This has been, and will continue to be for some time to come, a significant stage in human development, one that we will look back at and recognise as a huge milestone in our lives. We are definitely living through interesting times; it is important we take each step wisely and with certainty. We don’t have time to procrastinate or to remain stagnant.
The first procedure for such occurrences is to look at what we have outgrown, this being the death stage of change. I liken the entire process to changing gear – in a manual driven car. We have needed to identify the 2nd gear qualities of our life, where we have become locked into certain habits, attitudes, fears and patterns. There needs to be a feeling of repulsion, of not wanting to remain in that manner of living any more. This is where we start to separate ourselves from the past and all the unproductive parts of it.
Once we have moved away from the 2nd gear we slip into neutral. This is the disintegration phase of change. For most people this has been the case since October 2009, or at least sometime throughout the last 12 months. In neutral the feelings of being lost, disorientated, confused, directionless and vague are absolutely normal. The old has gone but the new hasn’t yet arrived. Therefore there is nothing to hold onto or to build upon. Patience is required at this point. It is essential that we are thorough in feeling the spaciousness of the void as this allows us to totally release the old identity.
Here in October 2010 we are preparing ourselves to move into the 3rd gear stage, this being the phase of rebirth. To begin with we need to set ourselves a sense of direction with goals to aim towards. To establish a consistent measure of progress it is important that we have a strategy outlining targets we are to reach by certain dates. Time management is the key to staying on track. This has a very strong military emphasis to it – it’s a bit like being in boot camp! We need to get the job done; we need to know our purpose and to reach our expected outcome in a set period of time.
To help us make this a smooth transition we need to put the clutch in. This part of the process is where we choose someone in our lives that can help make our journey as smooth as possible. It is advisable that we nominate this person clearly. They may be a friend, a work colleague, a counsellor or a health practitioner, along with many other possibilities. You may have someone in place already or you may need to research to find someone suitable to you. The role of this person, at this time, is to hold you accountable to your goals and progress. This is not a time to be facing the challenges on our own as we could easily slip back into old habits.
In this month it is essential that we have our buddy (clutch) in place. We need to set goals with this person as a means of laying the foundation for us to build upon. We need to have a time line organised with dates noted for progress reviews. From your individual birthchart reading you are notified exactly as to what area you need this buddy to be in your life – are they in your personal zone, your work, health or financial areas? Are they someone within your existing social circle or are they a professional in their chosen field? To maximise your progress it is most helpful to choose the right person to be at your side while making big decisions as to your future life pathway. (You may also be nominated by someone else to be their buddy, to help them in their progress.)
October 2010 highlights the need for us to build upon the quality of relationships; we are to gather those around us that bring out the best in who we are. To strengthen relationships it is recommended to have common goals to work towards, in this the partners aren’t just focusing upon each other but are also directing energy into a creative third point.
With the approaching New Moon, Fri 8th October, take the opportunity to set partnership plans into place. The theme for the Lunar cycle is set with the New Moon but in this month with the presence of Saturn and Mercury also in Libra long term plans can be appropriately formulated.
The remaining parts of our gear change I will cover in my next edition. With the accelerator increasing the speed of action we will need to cover a great measure of ground in a short period of time. The surge of the energy into 3rd gear is also about to happen and again I will cover this topic shortly.
