Venus Retrograde

Today at 10.09 pm (NZDT), at 13’ Aries, Venus goes into retrograde motion. It will continue going retrograde until the 15^th April where it will turn back to forward motion (Direct) at 26’ Pisces.

Where these degrees are positioned in our own individual charts will show where we want more warmth, recognition and depth of value.

Retrograde is when a planet appears to be moving backwards. The effect of this is, we feel withdrawn, reserved and hesitant, with the energy depicted by that planet.

Venus is the planet of love, creativity and affection. It shows our appreciation for art and beauty. When she is retrograde we are shy with our affection, needing more assurance in love and looking for praise and confirmation for our talents.  It can make us cooler in relationships, hesitant to share our heart-felt feelings and reluctant to express ourselves creatively.

On the positive side retrograde gives us a chance to go over ground we have already covered. Do you have a relationship issue that needs to be revisited, reviewed or renovated? Is there someone you love that you haven’t expressed your feelings to?

Venus is in its weakness in Aries – we have to love ourselves before we can love others. This is often judged or scorned as being narcissistic or vain. It is important that we all find ways to generate more love for ourselves over the next few weeks. Soak up the good vibes for yourself!

Venus, while going retrograde, will move back into Pisces, again revisiting distance we have already covered. This will be from 3^rd until the 29^th April. Here Venus is in her strength. This is a time to let our love shine, to allow the flow of our creativity room to move. Clear out the clutter that holds your creativity back – sort out your art studio, purge your sewing room, remove the dust from those paint brushes, get your dancing shoes out from the back of your wardrobe.  Make sure you create the space to be creative – it is said to be the final step before Buddha hood!

Of course in that time of being in Pisces, Venus will move direct – time to release and express all the insights, the healing and the discoveries acquired while she was retrograde; being busy, searching in the wardrobe for her dancing shoes!

Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra. Wherever these zodiacs are noted in our chart by house position, will be influenced by this retrograde effect.
