As we welcome in the New Year we get to bring our attention to our lives, the areas we want to change and our plans for the year ahead. Astrologically it isn’t actually a New Year as that is when the Sun goes into Aries on March 21st. We also have a personal New Year when the Sun comes across our Ascendant sign and degrees, complimented with the Sun returning to its place of origin when you were born – your birthday! The New Year that starts on 1st January of each year is a calendar year, belonging to the Gregorian calendar. Numerology also takes its information from these dates and so it is that we get to see the next step of our development, depending on the “number” of which will dominate your year. Astrology and Numerology are very different in their methods but they often come out with the same result.
As far as looking at the areas we want to change in our lives, to get the best results remember to take these steps in line with the seasons, the lunar month and the moon phase. The seasons happen every 3 months, with the guidelines being the Summer Solstice (Dec 22nd ), the Autumn Equinox (Mar 21st), the Winter Solstice ( June 21st) and the Spring Equinox ( Sept 23rd). These give us approximately 90 days per season to plan, to manifest and to modify our progress. Obviously the Summer Solstice has already occurred but you can put your sights on achieving a goal by the 21st March.
The Lunar Cycle gives us 29.5 days to complete our tasks. Breaking up our bigger goals, those that stretch over longer periods of time e.g. years and months, into smaller portions we get to see what our monthly goals are. These are kept on track when we follow the pattern of the Moon’s phases. It’s best to start new plans with the New Moon. The next New Moon is on 12th January (NZ time). With this being in Capricorn it is an excellent time to look at our work / career path, as well as goals that take extra stamina and effort. Capricorn likes to work hard.
With anything that you want to increase, i.e. work productivity, income, bank balances, it is best to start these projects or plans after the New Moon. At this time the increase of energy as the Moon grows from New to Full Moon, will be to your benefit. For activities that you want to decrease, as in giving up a habit, losing weight, shedding old identities then doing these after the Full Moon is best as the energy is all about lightening your load and minimizing. The Moon is presently in this phase up until the 12th January. For further dates it is recommended that you refer to a Moon Calendar.
Happy planning everyone! May 2013 bring you many blessings of prosperity, personal achievements and spiritual nourishment.
