Today at 8.12 am, NZ time, we had the Libran New Moon. As with all New Moons this sets the theme for the month to follow. It is where the Sun and the Moon are in the same zodiac sign, aligned at the same degree, 26’ Libra. The theme is set from the actual zodiac sign it occurs in – Libra is about relating, partnerships, co-operation, balance, harmony, artistic projects, mediation, fairness and justice.
From here the Moon will take a month to do the full lap around all 12 zodiac signs and the Sun will take a month to move through the length of one zodiac sign, e.g. 26’ Libra to 26’ Scorpio. We call this combined journey the Lunar Cycle. At varying points of the Moon’s journey around the zodiac signs we will see the ¼ Moon (at 90’), the Full Moon (at 180’), the ¾ Moon (at 270’) before returning to the next New Moon on the 19th Nov.
The energy of this Moon cycle is focusing on partnership plans, sharing tasks and projects with others. With the other planets near to this Moon, Jupiter and Mercury, this makes for a dynamic time to move heaps of energy, through exciting conversations, creative endeavors and positive challenges. The growth that can come from this combination is great – aim high, reach for the best, generate the most, seek the miraculous! Breaking new ground will be exciting and invigorating. The challenge is on!
The ruler of Libra is Venus – this is also currently in Libra. This marks a time for our relationships to flow well, to bring out the best in each other, to compliment the other in being the balance to us. Venus loves to love and here in Libra it is the love of the other – recognizing in them their talents, their skills, the areas where they shine. This brings healing rays of love to our relationships and helps us to recognize those that are truly our closest friends.
Uranus is directly opposite this New Moon – this adds speed, urgency and the desire for change to get up and get moving. We can only ask of others that which we are prepared to do or be ourselves. We cannot ask others to love us if we don’t love ourselves, we can’t ask them to be honest if we are not honest ourselves. So in all ways and areas of relating it is vital that we take self responsibility as the foundation to build upon. Anything else is unreasonable. It is better to lead by example, to teach from our own experience, to motivate others from our own recoveries.
Chiron is inconjunct this New Moon – a difficult aspect. Chiron made the same aspect to the recent Solar Eclipse so this New Moon is holding the 3rd point to the Yod –a 3 pointed configuration that looks like a ‘y’. The outcome of this can be spiritually amazing but the process to get there can be pressured with detours and delays. With the Uranus aspect above included in the picture I suggest that we have spurts of motivation and action then have a break from it, deliberately creating the delay. The inconjunction is inconsistent progress – rather than fight with this I advise we work with it. Allow the spurts of energy to be creative, allow the distractions to take our attention elsewhere for a short while then come back to the task. Look out for the frustration that can develop through expecting progress to be more than it is or expecting it to be different to what is. Inconjunctions require tolerance.
Happy New Moon everyone, remember to set your plans for the month to come and base these on partnership goals and together tasks. Choose the right person to share the experience with and let the magic happen!
